Welcome to Deer Run Farm

I have spent my life working professionally with horses.....starting with jumpers and 3-day event horses in England, then becoming enamored of the wonderful gaited breeds who provide such nice rides on trails.  I became a certified veterinary technician and spent many years working in equine surgical practices as well being breeding and foaling manager on large breeding farms.   In 1980, my interests were widened even further when I met my first miniature horse.  What a delightful creature!   Within months, I found myself training, showing and breeding these little guys....and the rest, as they say, is history.

The 4 year old bay stallion that I first trained for a client, and ultimately purchased for myself, became my own show horse and, later, my premier herd sire.  For 28 years I was honored to have Celebes by my side at my California ranch.  Over and over again, he produced beautifully headed athletic foals.  Those foals that I showed or sold to show homes went on to great success.  But for myself, I just enjoyed the thrill of each new foal crop, selling some and retaining daughters and granddaughters  I just couldn’t bear to part with.

Now my little horse farm has been recreated in a lovely 80 acre valley in the Ozarks of Missouri.  I wanted to give my group lots of room to run and eat grass and live in a normal herd situation.  I couldn’t have made a better choice.  They are in perfect health, both physically and mentally.  I have begun breeding again by borrowing a wonderful young stallion, Another Dimensions DWBs Rebellion, from my friend Susan Hopmans, so now I have 6 mares due in 2009.  I will plan on getting all of my mares  “in production” in 2009 with my new stallion, the gorgeous Mittey Titian son, Mittey Maximillian, whom I co-own with Susan Hopmans.

The dynamic blood of Mittey Titian, as well as a “dash” of Chicos Double Image blood to bring in Paul Bunyon's line, will be a perfect blend with the prepotent Celebes daughters.  I can’t wait to see how this recipe turns out!  And after all, that’s what breeding horses is all about.....ever striving to improve the breed through the art of blending great bloodlines.

Perhaps this recipe could produce a winner for you!   Just give me a call and we can arrange a private showing.  I love to share my love for these wonderful little horses.
